Fitness and Conditioning
Every class at Team Tooke has a strong emphasis on conditioning, and the grappling program is no exception. The movements and techniques can sometimes be challenging because you have to move your own weight around on the ground, as well as the weight of another person. We have our students practice specially designed drills to help you with these movements, and many of them are cardio intensive.
Fitness training is an integral part of every class. In order to learn a technique properly, you must test it out for yourself, so free-rolling (sparring) is an important part of your development in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. This requires the right level of conditioning, and we prepare you for that with our cardio-intensive drills and conditioning specific exercises.

Testing the waters.
It's important that you understand how and why the techniques you learn work, and that you know they will work in a real self-defense situation. Our Brazilian Jiu-jitsu classes give you a hands-on approach to training, and allow you to test out the techniques. We don't want you to wait until you have to use it to find out whether it works or not. That's why we spar/free-roll every day in our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program. Upon completion of 16 classes in our Fundamental BJJ program, you will qualify for our Advanced Class which includes live practice. By safely advancing into this program with the help of our elite instructors, you will have the chance to practice what you learn in a very realistic way
Our Beginner BJJ Classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays. We have afternoon classes from 11am-1pm and evening classes from 7-9pm.
