What would be best for me?

by Justin
(Florida)

I'm 18 y/o and i love MMA. I do not want to pursue a career in the fighting industry but i want to learn a form of fighting and stay fit. Right now i weigh 225 lbs but i will be dropping to about 175 in a couple months, i am also 5'8" and stocky. I'm not too flexible but working on that every day. I have strong legs, arms and shoulders. A pretty strong upper body, quick for a big guy and lots of heart. Which would probably play into my strengths and body type better. Judo, BJJ, Muay Thai, Boxing, or Wrestling?

Coach Travis Says:
"If you love MMA than I would highly recommend all of these styles. It's tough to say which style would fit your natural talents best without you actually trying them out. I have seen short stocky guys with great ground work as well as Muay Thai skills. I have also seen the opposite. It is important that you find the style or styles that you most enjoy and will put your heart into. Again, I highly recommend all the styles you mentioned and think you will reach your goals with any of them. Doing more than 1 style however, will give you the most well rounded game. I wish you the best and hope this was able to help you.
